Official Statement 162nd Howick-Turnberry Fall Fair

The past year and a half has been a challenge for many of us. Uncertainty surrounding our jobs, personal life, and community life has become a part of our everyday routine. This uncertainty has been a significant factor in our planning of the 162nd Howick-Turnberry Fall Fair.

Most of our planning for a fair happens between December and May. By June, we have signed our contracts, printed our fair book, and are making sure the last details are in place before the big event. This year, the board struggled to determine the best course of action as we did not know where the world would be by the time September rolled around. It was hard to determine what the Public Health Regulations would be, how many we could have in attendance, or how many volunteers we would need to cover the extra work of ensuring that the community remained safe.

Therefore, in April the board voted to hold a revised 162nd Howick-Turnberry Fall Fair. The
theme for this year’s fair is “Rubber Boots & Country Roots.” The fair will consist of three events held from August through to October. Details for each event will become available over the coming weeks. We are happy to announce that the 3 events are:
1. Virtual Homecraft Division
2. Farmer Parody Competition
3. Hospitality Booth Take Home Basket

We look forward to 2022 and our return to normal. We will soon begin planning for our 163rd Howick-Turnberry Fall Fair held September 23-25, 2022.
