Property Standards & By-law Enforcement
Property Standards and By-law Services oversees municipal by-law enforcement, parking, licensing, and animal control, which directly contribute to the community’s health, safety, and quality of life.
The Department's mandate is to ensure compliance with Municipal By-laws as well as certain Provincial Statutes.
The Property Standards By-law sets minimum standards to ensure that property owners’ maintain their properties. These standards are put in place to protect the health and safety of occupants as well as the general public.
You can make a complaint about a possible Property Standards and municipal by-law violation by signing a complaint form which initiates the action. You can download the form here, or you can contact the municipal office or By-law Enforcement officer to obtain the form. It is important to file a written complaint to initiate the complaint process and the form can be dropped off, faxed or emailed to the municipal office.
