Recreation & Facilities

Howick Township offers a variety of recreational opportunities, including parks, trails, and community events, such as fairs and festivals, providing residents and visitors with access to natural beauty and outdoor activities. The township also offers a range of indoor recreational facilities, such as community centres, arenas, and sports fields, promoting physical activity and social interaction for all ages.

Walking Trails

Created in 2022, the Fordwich, Gorrie and Wroxeter Community Walking Trails combine to make up over 4 km. of level, stone dust trails available for walking, hiking, cycling, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. The trails offer picturesque views along the Maitland River, as it winds through the Township of Howick’s three villages.
