$190,700 OTF Grant Supports Township of Howick Recreation Department Programming

Gorrie, ON (July 3, 2023)– In 2023, the Township of Howick received a $190,700 Resilient Communities Fund grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF). This grant runs from 2023 to 2024 and gives the Township of Howick the opportunity to develop a PA Day and Summer Day Camp Program. Funds will go towards supplies and equipment, staff wages, facility rental costs, marketing materials and more in order to offer the community recreation-based childcare options within Howick Township.

“We are so thankful for the support from the Ontario Trillium Foundation,” says Caitlin Gillis, Clerk Administrator. “This funding will allow the Recreation Department to grow and offer more high-quality services to the residents of Howick” says Brady Ropp, Recreation & Facilities Supervisor.

The Township of Howick strives to break down barriers for young people to participate in recreation programs and camps, whether they be physical, social, or financial. Many families rely on our services to provide their children with meaningful summer camp experiences and enriching athletic opportunities.
