Huron County Fire Ban

The Huron County Fire Chiefs have issued a fire ban for Huron County.   There will be no open air burning permitted in Huron County until further notice.  Please see attached for more information.

Recreation News

*New program coming to the Howick Pool* - This year we are offering a lifeguard camp for anyone 10-14 OR who has completed Red Cross Swim Kids 7. The camp will run August 15-19, and will include an introductory first aid course. Check out our program schedule, find us on Facebook or contact Eric at recreation@howick.ca or 519-335-3883.  

Road Closing

road closed sign Howick Turnberry Road between Mud Lake Line and Malcolm Line will be closed for Reeves Construction of Mount Forest to work on the extension to Structure 34 starting July 4, 2016 for approximately one month.


Huron-Bruce Road will be closed between Belmore Line and Forest Line from August 1st to September ‎30th. The reason for the closure is to replace a culvert just east of Belmore Line. The contractor is Moorefield Excavating.

New and Noteworthy

Lock it or lose it!  Burglary is defined as the unlawful entry into a home or other structure, such as a shed or garage, for the purpose of committing a theft. Schefter Poultry

Schefter Poultry Processing was initially opened in 1977 by Jim and Marion Schefter. In 2003, Dale Schefter reopened Schefter Poultry with the help of many dedicated individuals. The plant became operational on July 13, 2006 and currently employees 35 people. Dale has generously offered up space for the kiosk and Schefter Poultry staff is pictured here with Karling Wright, Howick Economic Development Student.  Thank you Dale for your support of economic development in Howick Township!
